Genesis 1:3: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
In 1752, Ben Franklin tied a key to a kite string during a storm and demonstrated that static electricity and lightning were the same. His accurate understanding of electricity’s nature laid the foundation for future advancements.
Eventually, electricity would find its way into homes worldwide, creating a demand for skilled individuals to bring this incredible invention into every household.
Therefore, God made a Journey Lineman!
And on a great day, God looked down on His planned paradise and said, “I need someone to bring light and power to homes.” So, God made a Lineman.
I need someone ready to leave the comfort of their bed in the dead of night, scale a pole, face 7200 volts of electricity, and risk everything to bring power back to those in need. So, God made a Lineman.
“I need someone with arms strong enough to pull wires high into the air, yet gentle enough to embrace his family when he returns home. Someone who comes back hungry but works tirelessly to provide for his family and tend to his livestock before taking a moment for himself. So, God made a Lineman.
God said, “I need someone willing to stay on his hooks all night through a storm, repair a cross arm, replace a pole, change a transformer; someone who can work in extreme heat and freezing cold. Someone who can handle natural disasters yet still manage daily tasks. Someone who can operate a digger truck and a skid-steer loader to push through the mud. So, God made a lineman.
God needed someone who could ride the line at double speed to swiftly resolve issues and clear hazards. Someone with steady footing and the strength to lift up to 100 pounds while scaling a pole. So, God made a Lineman.

God said, “I need someone who understands the value of safety. Someone who won’t take shortcuts. Someone ready to wear rubber gloves and sleeves for protection. Someone who knows that one mistake could mean his life or the life of a brother. Someone who can be trusted, lead, support, and pray for his Lineman brothers. So, God made a Lineman.
“God needed someone who could hold a family together with the gentle yet firm ties of love, care, sharing, and prayer, someone who would laugh and then sigh with a smile in his eyes when his son says he wants to spend his life “doing what Dad does.” So, God made a Lineman.
I am so proud of my Journeyman Lineman.
And at the end of the day, I know God looks down on him with a smile and says, “Well done!”
With the temperatures at sub-zero please support your local Lineman.
If you see them working tirelessly to restore power in your community, consider showing your appreciation with a hot cup of coffee, hot chocolate, or even a warm meal.
Most of the time, these guys have worked countless hours without food or a hot drink, so I know they’ll really appreciate the gesture!
God Bless ALL the Lineman and THANK YOU for doing what you do!
Dana
