Ingredients
1 quart bag of corn from your freezer (see note below)
4 tablespoons bacon grease
2 tablespoons butter, NOT MARGARINE
Salt and pepper to taste
Just a dab of sugar to sweeten things up a bit
Directions
Throw the butter and bacon grease into the bottom of an iron skillet like you’re starting a culinary masterpiece. Toss in all the other ingredients and crank up the heat to medium, letting the corn simmer until it is completely thawed. Continue to cook over medium heat until the liquid says goodbye and vanishes. Stir often like your life depends on it—because nobody wants scorched corn ruining their day!
NOTE: No corn in the freezer? Don’t panic! Just grab four cans of whole kernel corn from the store—that’s about a quart of golden glory right there. And don’t forget to throw in a splash of heavy whipping cream for that creamy, dreamy deliciousness.
