My youngest offspring loves himself some cinnamon rolls.
And of course, the one night he was craving them I had nothing!
So he, not me, started scrounging through the fridge and cabinets to see what he could come up with.
He found a couple of packages of the Pillsbury seamless dough in the fridge and decided that he could roll that out, brush with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and wha lah, cinnamon rolls.
So, naturally I encouraged his plan.
And it all turned out wonderful.
What you need ……
2 packages of Pillsbury seamless dough
4-6 tablespoons melted butter
8-10 tablespoons cinnamon and sugar (I buy this pre-mixed from the store)
What you do ……
Roll dough out flat and brush with melted butter.
That’s my babies hands, he is 8.
That’s how easy these are to make.
He did everything by himself I just coached him along
Next, give it a good sprinkling with the cinnamon and sugar.
Then starting at either end, roll the dough into your cinnamon rolls.
To cut your rolls, take a piece of thread (the kind you would sew with), any color, and gently slide it under the roll.
Holding each end of the thread, cris-cross over and gently pull thread through dough. (sorry there isn’t a photo of this but we got in a hurry and forgot to take a pic)
Perfect, beautiful, professional looking cinnamon rolls
We cheated and sprinkled a little more cinnamon and sugar on top.
Bake at 375° for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
No pic of finished product either as we got in a hurry to eat them and again forgot to take a pic!
Icing for top of cinnamon rolls
1 8oz cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 brown sugar (can add more if you like it a little sweeter)
1/2 stick butter, room temperature
Beat with electric mixer on high until well blended.
Spread over top of slightly cooled cinnamon rolls.
Now how easy was that???
