While sorting through boxes of “stuff” after our recent move, I came across an old recipe box. Inside, I discovered handwritten recipes for Pineapple Salad and Orange Salad from my Grandmother.

She went home to be with Jesus in 2006, and I often find myself missing her often. Especially when I feel like picking up the phone to call and ask her a question about cooking, baking, or canning.

My grandmother had many handwritten recipes because that was her only way to keep a record. Many of my aunts and cousins also have more handwritten recipes from her.

Maybe we should gather all these recipes and turn them into a cookbook?
