ME

Hello family, friends, and neighbors, I am so glad you dropped in for a visit.  Southern Gals Cook was inspired for my desire to share recipes, gardening tips, faith and farm living with family and friends.

I am married to Lance, a power lineman/farmer.  We live on a farm with our cows and dogs! I have two wonderful boys, Taylor and Landon, and a beautiful daughter-in-law, Kristen (Taylor’s wife).  I recently was blessed with my very first grandbaby!

I was raised a farm girl (working in tobacco fields) and most of my summers were spent with my Grandmother (I am only one of 13 grand kids).  I learned how to cook from watching my Mother and Grandmother in the kitchen.  There’s nothing I enjoy more that cooking a meal and having friends and family sitting around the table!  I have been on the kitchen committee where I attend church for many years.  Me and the other ladies on this committee prepare meals for our church family often.

My style of cooking is very southern and down to earth.  Sometimes I try to get fancy; sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn’t!  My husband tells me I should just stick with what I know!!

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you come back soon!

God Bless

    1. Hey Ron, I am so glad you enjoyed the cake! No need to return the plate, but thanks for asking. I’ll soon be taking orders for the quickly approaching holidays, so if you would need a cake for an event, family get together, etc. just let me know and I’ll whip one up for ya!
