Friends meet Betty

(sorry about the picture quality but its hard to take a pic while trying to hold a mama goat still so baby can nurse)

Betty meet our friends

Over the past several weeks our mama goats have added to our herd

Lucy had two

Belle had two

Old Girl had on one

And Scruffy, well she had two.

However, Scruffy is not being a very good mama to Betty.  Scruffy will not let Betty nurse and she butts at her when she gets close.

Betty was very weak and somewhat of a runt when she was born.  She wasn’t able to stand on her own for a couple of days.

I had to physically hold Betty so she could milk until she could stand on her own.

Good new though, Betty is able to stand and get milk for herself but Scruffy still doesn’t want her to nurse so now I have to hold Scruffy so Betty can nurse.
